Ground Seeding

Ground seeding is a cost-effective solution for seeding large areas of flatland and reclaimed areas such as mine outflows. Terrasol has many tractors that use large broadcast Vicon spreaders capable of handling up to one metric ton of material. Our tractors can also be outfitted with drillseeders to apply the seed a very precise rates. We also use 4-wheel drive all terrain vehicles (ATVs) with smaller broadcast seeders to access even more terrain.

There are various ways of applying the seed but a few key factors remain the same:

The use of appropriate equipment to minimize damage to existing vegetation is one of these factors. We can use low footprint turf tires on all our tractors and quads or aggressive tread tires for access to rough terrain and grades.

Application of amendments, such as fertilizer or lime can be factored in and applied similarly.

Terrasol’s large fleet of equipment means that we can cover more area in less time, able to facilitate large jobs with time-constraint factors or material availability.
